A message from our GAA-SC President:

GAASC Fall Summit – Aiken

It is time again for the annual GAA-SC Fall Summit.   This year’s summit is being held October 29-30 in Aiken, SC. This year the main focus is GIS & IT  understanding and collaboration on day one. Speaker to discuss topics like Virtual Servers, Networking Fundamentals and IT basics for GIS professionals. Also a round table about each members shop, a look at the new website and ESRI UC proceedings, and the delivery of the Data Policy Framework document.

Day two will be about Business Processes and Organizational Workflows. Presentations/perspective from people that have gone through it and a hands on workshop to help everyone make the most out of this process that GIS and IT continues to play a large part of. Then discussion of new project initiatives for the upcoming year. Closing with our annual business meeting and elections.

I look forward to your participation in this year’s summit and being a part of this continued grass roots effort fostering leadership and acilitating collaboration within South Carolina’s local government IT and GIS community.
